Organizational Setting

You provide legal support for programs, contracts, and compliance within UN operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts, MOUs, and agreements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare legal opinions for senior staff.
  • Support dispute resolution through research and structured negotiation.
  • Interpret national and international legal frameworks linked to UN activities.
  • Draft and review official correspondence.
  • Support investigations linked to staff conduct and policy breaches.
  • Maintain updated records of laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Engage government offices on permits, registration, and legal coordination.
  • Train staff on legal obligations and compliance rules.

Work Experience

  • Experience drafting legal documents and advisory notes.
  • Experience in litigation or legal compliance.
  • Experience with NGOs or public institutions is an advantage.

Languages

  • English required.
  • Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

Assessment
